On the way to work

On the way to work

For the last two weeks, as I have been driving up this road in the morning on my way to work, I always think how pretty it is in the autumn colours. So for a while I have been contemplating taking my camera and photographing it and today I finally did it. Unfortunately the shot didn’t come out quite as well as I’d hoped and so I tweaked it a little in DPP and this is about as good as I can get it.

Structural modifications

I had a great flight yesterday after some major repairs to the aircraft. One of the big problems I was having is that the wings were very flexible and if I even hinted at pulling g, the wings folded together and the plane fell out of the sky. So yesterday I decided that maybe some cheap shatter proof rulers taped to the underside of the wing would solve my problem. And what do you know? It worked. Actually the aircraft flew very well and because it is now heavier it is more stable in the air. The landing was a bit unfortunate because it was perfect right until “slide out” (the moment after touch down if you have no landing gear) when it slid into a lamp post. Oh well, it lives to fly again and I am learning slowly and painfully with much application of super glue and boxing tape.
