The reality of ESKOM’s rolling blackouts

So its Saturday morning and ESKOM has turned off the electricity again, meaning I had to boil water like this:

Boiling water

and make breakfast like this:

Making breakfast

On a lighter note, I was sitting down reading The Photographers Guide to Composition by John Freeman when I had an apostrophe (epiphany for those of you who have never watched the movie Hook.) The most important component in any photograph is light. The way to make a good photograph is to take careful consideration of the light that will be entering the camera. Think of it this way: A painter carefully places paint on his canvas exactly where he wants it to be. In the same way, a good photographer will make sure that the light falling on his camera’s sensor is exactly where he wants it to be.
