First draft

I have submitted 67 pages as the first draft of Chapters 1-4 of my dissertation. The chapters go something like this: Introduction, Literature Survey, Problem Formulation and Mathematical Model.

I have tried to be very thorough in my literture survey but when I was reading it tonight it all felt relevant but unfortunately very disjointed.

I’m not sure about the inclusion of the problem formulation and analysis of the FAA regulations. I don’t think it adds any value and it covers work that would be handled by a whole team of engineers in real life. I’m just one person and if I ever want to finish this I think its just too much for me to handle.

Later this week I will start to run and write up all the simulations I need to validate my aerodynamic model.

But for now, its 01:10, I have already achieved 10 hours out of my 11 our target for the week (and I’m only two days into the week) and therefore I am going to use the rest of the week to catch up on sleep!

No pictures yet, 69 pages though!

I still haven’t got around to posting any pictures from Kruger because I spent most of last Saturday trying to calibrate the new monitor. I succeeded in the end but I still have to set up preferences for Bridge and Photoshop because at the moment the pictures look much sharper in ZoomBrowserEx.

I have chucked everything together for my dissertation and it is 69 pages long at the time of writing. I have even finished a first attempt at the layout and the first draft of Chapter 1. Now I need to evaluate and extend my literature survey and then move back on to real work.

I hate posting anything without pictures so here is one of the plots of my wing from June.
